ANDERS DE THE HAUNTED (23/02/06)

Jensen (ex. Seance) moved down to Gothenburg in 1996. He started a project with Adrian on drums. Jonas was helping out on bass. This was springtime 1996 when ATG was still together. When ATG split up, Adrian and Jensen started concentrating on the new project (THE HAUNTED). First they had John Zwetsloot (Dissection) helping out on guitar, but was later replaced by me (Anders). I took some time off music altogether after ATG split up (summer 1996), and joined Jensen, Adrian and Jonas in September / October sometime.

 

Can you explain to all our readers what happened between The Haunted and Marco Aro?. Are you still having contact with him?

He left the band for family reasons. We are still in contact, and still good friends.

 

Recently you came to Spain with God Dethroned and God Forbid. Three different bands with three different styles, why did you choose them to tour with?. How was the experience?

Experience was good. We toured with God Forbid in the US prior to this European tour, and we all had fun. Therefor we brough GF on the European tour as well. God Dethroned was a last minute add-on since Manntis cancelled.

 

Talking about the touring, what has been the best tour you have ever done, and why?

Maybe with Morbid Angel and Dissection (with AT THE GATES) in 1996. 3 good bands, and first time for us in the US. A great experience for sure.

 

What do you think about spanish fans?

They are crazy and very dedicated. We always have a good time in Spain. Barcelona was actually one of the best of the whole tour.

 

Let's talk a little about your last album rEVOLVEr. Are you happy with the results? What do you hear about it from fans?

We are happy with the result, but as always there are things you want to change afterwards. The songs stand strong, but you have different ideas about production and recording techniques. So, I guess it would sound different if we'd recorded it today. The reaction has been great. From both fans and media.Most of the people seem to appreciate Peter's return to the band.

 

What are the next plans for the band?. What's new on the future?

We are heading off to Japan & Australia with EXODUS in early
March 2006. After that we'll concentrate on finishing the album. We aim at recording it in May 2006 which will result in a October release. Check our website for updates.
